Unusual Furry Species
« on: May 05, 2009, 09:58:10 pm »
I've never met someone who's fursona was a guinea pig.
And I've never met any cows, or sheep, or pigs, or pugs.

I guess it's because nobody wants to be associated with some types of animals.
Has anyone here ever met an unusual species furry?

I AM A SHEEP :P

Thats what a ram is, a male sheep.

Edit: And I think that its because most people like to express the best part of themselves when they make a fursona (or persona). So associating with a "weak" or "stupid" animal puts alot of people off. So the person who is one of those animals (such as me for example) most likely looks at the better aspect of the animal then others do. I picked the ram, because I love their horns, think they're very bright, are amazed by their eyes (seriously look at a sheep or goats eyes, its awsome), and find that I generally like said animal. If you REALLY want to delve deep, I have issues with my masculinity and problems relating to people, as such I selected an animal that was strongly related to males (the Ram), and a herd animal (the sheep).

But thats just my thoughts on it.

And ON SUBJECT (which I get off of alot) I have only met one furry in real life, and he was a fox. Didn't talk to him much because he had alot of problems (such as he was a very blatent liar). And I only found out he was a furry the very last time I saw him... Which didn't help.

He is indeed.

And come to think of it... there are quite a few furries with ram mixes. A couple of them commissioned me.

Though I don't necessarily consider furry hybrids "unusual."

I think Airbag's fursona is pretty unusual. Not too often you see antelope furs running around.

I've met all kinds of weird species.
One girl was adamant in being some sort of extinct canine, that looked like it belonged in the Dinosaur ages, in one of the RPs I've tried running, even though I stated very clearly that the plot needed the animals to be common...
And some dude I talked to on IMVU was a Margay, which is basically a cat with spots, and an excellent ability to move around on, or between, trees.
"Life's journey is not about arriving at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit, what a ride""
"Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means you are two steps ahead"
"Invoke not common sense, for it is not common"
"A life without joy is a wasted one, and you got but one to waste."
"To touch the clouds, you need to reach for the stars"

I know of one other X3. I'd say Narwhals, but I don't think fursonas you made while messing around count..

Oddly enough, I've never actually spoken too another skunk 'sona. Hmm..

lesse.

I've run into one bull fursona. Pretty interesting guy albeit a bit brash at times. He's quite honestly one of the most unique furs i've ever met (Due to his fur being purple)

I've seen an Iguanasona, she was fun to talk to and meet and greet. Phoenixes aren't that common (I only have about five phoenixes in my little group :C)

And of course. Who wants to be a human. Ewwwwww. Those are the oddest of the bunch!

I've met quite a lot of furries. >3 I've met cows, sheep, pigs.. but not a pug!
I've met a grasshopper, a praying mantis, and a butterfly in the insect category..
Several killer whales and dolphins and a walrus in the sea mammal category..
A couple of hedgehogs and porcupines in the now defunct insectavore category..
Had an armadillo buddy at one point. Very cool. (Fun to invite to soccer games)
A couple of alligators, a couple of snakes, a gecko, a chameleon, and several lizards in the reptile category..
And several sharks in the fish category.

I could probably think of more later, but that's all for now.

I'm surprised, though! Nobody has mentioned me in this thread about unusual furry species. >D
I got thirsty and drank my pet water. :c

More unusual species that i've come in contact include a Raptoress/Hawk hybrid, a six-tailed Lemur and a black chameleon.

I might be considered an unusual species myself, though I didnt pick my species based on my best characteristics. I picked it more based on my preferred lifestyle, my build, my colors, and the way I tend to act.
I like small, cozy places with a group of people. Im a bit on the lanky side, though my thighs are gaining weight (back to the treadmill for me). Im kind of pale, with brown hair....remotely meerkatish. -3- And Im skittish, I have a weird quirk where I hold my hands up in front of me occasionally, and I do fight with people in groups (not physical, Im weak ;P). /ramble

I've got an old dolphin (anthro, with legs and arms instead of fins, though kept the tail) friend who goes way back to my days before furrydom, I still chat with him on occasion, and his fellow dolphin friend (she was more of the regular, swimming kind) whom I haven't seen in years. Don't see too many of them running around, either. Good furs they are. :D

I'm a seal, which doesn't fit me at all irl, but I don't really care since I'm not a die hard furry.

Oh what now?

I've never seen a dino-fur before, though. Dragons, but not dinosaurs.

I love stegosauruses.  If I would have known about the furry fandom a loooong time ago, I could have been a stegosaurus fur. XD

Buddy o'mine that hosts the furry radio show, Time Machine Show, every weekday at 9 pacific (plug, much?), is a dilphosaurus. :3 Very cool dino anthro. Funny head-crest thing. I like to bounce cheetoes off of it.
