Ok So I saw the movie yesterday
All I can say is that I am somewhat disappointed.
I've known about 9 since I was around 10
I was looking up stuff on the internet and stumbled upon the short by Shane acker and it made a huge impact on my young life.
When I found out that they were making a movie I thought this was something I would be obsessed with for the next 5 years or so.
I mean the visuals are AMAZING and the style is totally kick butt.
But it felt like they were just speeding along and not really developing all that much.
It would've been better as a saga of movies or something so they could slow down alittle and explain things.
Like the soul talisman and the whole dark science thing
Or like how the scientist even made the dolls in the first place.
I honestly think it was more about the eye candy than the story, which is somewhat shallow when you think about it.
Either way the story IS still interesting and is definitely still worth seeing.
I'll give it a 7/10
Good art
Good story
But just not enough developed.

I'm going to see this on Saturday. When I first saw the trailer I got all excited because they used "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria. Did Tim Burton direct this? He usually makes good movies.

I heard it was REAALLLYY good from a bunch of people. I've never heard of it until now, so it should be interesting.

NO IT WAS NOT DIRECTED BY TIM BURTON! >:C
It was PRODUCED by him.
Sorry I get mad when he gets credit for stuff he didn't do.

It was a very good movie! But definitely not as good as it could've been.

I saw this a week ago, and yeah, it did seem like the story got sped through, with no regard to character development, sacrificing it for eye candy and thus leaving me unsatisfied. :<

I saw it with a couple of friends and I thought the story was quite good and the visual effects were fantastic but it did feel rushed and I thought that there had to be more when it had finished.

Tim Burton SPONSORED it, which I was led on to beleive he directed it D:

The art was fantastic, the plot was pretty good! But the movie just seemed to drag on, the characters never had much to say. It could've been better, which is a shame. :C If they spend a tad bit more time on it...

Yeah, I think that they should've reworked the story a bit, given the characters a bit more to say and possibly added a bit more to the end because it felt as if it was missing something at the end?

The movie was made more for the purpose of the art, just the creativity of it all, rather yet the story is there for one to think and ponder, to fit in your self-made puzzle pieces. The Art was what made it amazing I guess, just seeing the dead bodies of people everywhere, the dead lady and baby in the car, the broken dolls/etc. The movie was short, as it should have been, it wasn't made to elaborate on everything, that's for you the watcher to do. The characters didn't have much to say, well because I guess they really wouldn't have much to say. I think it was fine, when I saw the movie, it wasn't exactly for the reason to make sense, just the style/etc, it was more of a visual joy ride in purpose in my opinion. So kind of like it was made to confuse you.

Sorry if what I just said made no sense...

That makes sense, Izzy :D The art was beautiful...it just...lacked something. I couldn't get into it because of the weird atmosphere of teh film.

Sure there were many illogical/etc things, but... it not being all too realistic helps to have the story move along, also to create suspense and such, as well as, "oh my who might that random being be... who picks up the map?" Somewhat obvious, but still...

I was excited for several months before to see it, and I can only say that I am very, very disappionted. It moved along far too quickly, and I couldn't make sense of a lot of it. Spaz is right though, in that I liked the art a lot. It doesn't quite make up for the rest, though.

I watched it today, great CGI, but a very rushed and kind of boring story.

I'll give it an 8, because the robots were pretty bad-ass.

I saw it in theaters right when it released and I actually quite liked it, great art and cool storyline even though it wasn't developed well. But then again, I didn't go into it expecting much, just some really awesome character designs and whatnot, so the really wasn't much of a way I could've been disappointed.
