Left 4 Dead 2 Review
« on: November 18, 2009, 07:07:37 pm »
I haven't finished the game yet but so far it's larger number of weapons and items
give a much greater variety to gameplay. Melee weapons are a blast, my personal favorites
being the Katana and the crowbar which is familiar if you've played the Half-Life Series.
The uncommon infected are a good challenge
especially the armored zombies that are very hard to kill unless shot in the back.
Level design is great and well thought out. The graphics are slightly better than the first
but they are still outdated compared to some of the newer titles out there.
The AI director is more intelligent in most ways but I have noticed some issues.
In just 2 maps of one campaign I encountered 6-10 witches and in others I encountered
two tanks at once, making it exceedingly difficult for normal difficulty settings.
On singleplayer your computer controlled team is also much less helpful than
in the original Left 4 Dead, taking more time to figure out when you are in trouble and sometimes seeming
to forget about you all together. A this point I would give it seven out of ten.
