Review of Maximum Ride (Book Review 1)
« on: January 05, 2010, 06:52:08 pm »
I hope to review all the books I read on here! Well, over the break from school, I read 'Maximum Ride', which is an awesome book. Heres the call, kids/adults/strange mix!

My first impression of this book was kinda dull at first, but after about page 20, I was hooked. Being the fast reader I am, I zipped through the near 400 pages in about 2-3 days. The book is about a group of six kids: Angel, Nudge, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, and Max(All of which are nicknames except for Max.) that escaped from a biogenetic research facility called "The School". While out on a little 'family' thing, picking ripe berries. Erasers, which are half-wolf half-human genetic mistakes(Kind of like Max and co., except they have wings)who help The School recover experiments that escape, and actually live, attacked the group. After a long fight, the erasers of course won and stole six-year-old Angel, who Max admittedly says(In her mind, which Angel can read)is her favorite. Max, Nudge, and Fang leave Iggy and Gasman behind to recover Angel from The School. The quest they go on spans pretty much the whole United States and brings them to mysterious and new places. A definite must-read, check Maximum Ride out!

This book is done in first-person point of view with Max.

Make sure you check out my next review for the book Im reading by Stephen King, "The Stand"! Im loving this book so far, dont miss it!

Also, let it be known that this book in the series is called "The Angel Experiment". Just so you dont end up reading a different one and be like "Wth?...This guy had the story all wrong r.r".

Well, I thought the First 3 were wonderful, but the latest 3 are garbage.
The only book I know to have come out since MAX is FANG.

SPOILER:
The go from Fighting Secret laboratories and dark experiments to fighting global warming, and helping in Africa? I see that James Patterson is trying to get kids more active in good things, but he is ruining the story, in my opinion. The latest one was so bad, i only got 10 pages in, and I just couldn't keep reading. It was garbage.

After Max came Fang, and now Angel was released on Feb. 14th in America. I'm still waiting for it to come out here though. :c

I <33 this series so much. The idea of it is so cool. Yay winged people. <:
