Well, since this has changed in the past few months, here's the new specs for the two machines with (virtually0 full uptime in my apartment:

Nibelheim (ffd.ffd@LAN) ~
Multi-speed DVD recorder (Yeah, about that... Still getting plenty of use, still thanking you for it!)
Primary HD: 160GB at (I think) 7200 RPM (And, again, thanks. And for the cable attached to it.)
Secondary HD: 120GB (Salvage from ruined wyrm.ffd@LAN)
3.5" Floppy (Kicking it oldschool, nyan!)
767 MB RAM (Single bad address somewhere on the smaller stick)
Intel Celeron Processor
Integrated sound, video, etc...
4 USB 1 ports
2 USB 2 ports
2 Firewire (?) ports (plugs match, but I'm not sure...)
2 Ethernet cards 10/100mb

Contrary to what some of you might think, most of you can beat the machine I've just detailed with the one in front of you. Some of you might even be able to beat it with your cell phone, if you have a nice enough one XDDD

The three machines in the server grid - ffd, wyrm, and yoda - were ruined straight through the entire thing, with a whole lot of parts to go with it, in a thunderstorm that took out power here for a week. I was not amused.

And, for curious eyes, Nibelheim is indeed a reference to FF7. It came from a childhood home that I was so desperate to leave, and yet ended up at even as I thought I was done. (It's the only tower to ever serve in my apartment that was mine to begin with, too!)

Oooh this thread is perfect for me ^.^

My main machine is a HP Compaq Elite 8000 that I bought off of eBay a while back that I have upgraded up to higher specs

Specs include:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz
8GB of DDR3 1066MHz
ZOTAC Nvidia GT 640 1GB GDDR5
250GB WD HDD
DVD-RW Lightscribe drive
240W PSU
Intel G45 Chipset based motherboard from HP
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

The whole machine was about $200, including the prices of new hard ware and upgrades. Thing runs like a champ and is super speedy.

WEI scores are as follows (Yes I am aware this is not an accurate way of measuring performance but it does provide a good baseline)

CPU - 7.3
RAM - 7.3
Graphics - 7.1
Gaming Graphics - 7.1
Hard drive - 5.9

I can post pics of my rig if anyone is curious ;p

Voltz, I think my Sony craptop was more expensive than your HP... (it's had no upgrades).
But just look at those spec differences!

Never buy a Vaio, kids.

My machine was a refurb on eBay, that's mainly why it was so cheap lol

I haven't ran into many major issues at all. I don't do many games, but when I play TF2 here and there, it normally runs at 100 fps+

The GPU is the thing that makes this SFF machine not suck. The CPU does a little work, but without the GPU, this thing wouldn't play any games since the iGPU from Intel at the time was awful.

To give you an idea of the performance difference:
iGPU from Intel: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+G45%2FG43+Express+Chipset&id=944
