My custom build is:
ASRock z97 Extreme3 motherboard
Nvidia GeForce 750 Ti, 2 gig video card
1TB Hitachi disk drive @ 7200 RPM
Intel Pentium Dual Core G3258 @ 3.20 GHz
8 gb RAM
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
Sentey CS1-1399 case
Corsair CX Series Modular CX750M ATX Power Supply
Windows 10 Enterprise OEM (x64)

And that's about it for the PC, itself. Don't remember the thermal paste I used, I just found it lying around. Obviously, it's a budget build, since I don't really have the money to spare.
Not bad... I was originally thinking of the 750 ti and other similar specs but I went all out :3 Very nice build all the same :fox-:):
The 750 Ti is really an outstanding thing. I was worried about it being passively powered, but it works very well.

I think building it yourself builds a deeper understanding of the tech and lets you experience things that will help in the future.

My GTX 780 just die on me.  :sad-fox: :sad-fox: :sad-fox:

I'm getting it RMA'd but this sort of made me think I need to upgrade so im getting another 780 and putting them in SLI. I'm also going to overclock now that I got the Kraken x61 liquid CPU cooler. Finally I need to get a new 1000w PSU to run all this stuff. Those will be my upgrades for 2016  :D

If you want go ahead and tell me your PCs specs I love hearing about them, I'll start with my current potato PC that, I'm working on upgrading and giving to a friend. It's nothing special just an old emachines PC I've been upgrading.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Single Core CPU @ 2.2GHz (Upgrading to dual core CPU)
RAM: 768mb of DDR-400 (Plan to upgrade to 4gb as motherboard supports it)
GPU: ATI Radeon X1300
PSU: Some generic 288watt prebuilt PC PSU (Plan on upgrading.)
Sound card: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Random: 56k modem. (Haven't bothered taking it out yet.)
Case: Emachines case.
Motherboard: Cheap Chinese motherboard with crappy capacitors. (Plan on either replacing the capacitors or getting new motherboard.)

Ahhh yes I had hoped a thread like this existed but hadn't managed to look yet. Good work with the emachines box, I always appreciate it when people keep things useful rather than throwing them out. I tend to refurb and donate anything I find that's pre-DDR2 because I can't make it profitable to sell. There is always someone who could use an old Windows XP or linux box- local charities love getting them especially if you have a keyboard/mouse/CRT to go with.

As for my specs, the ironic part is that I spend so much time working on computers I don't actually play many games, so most of the builds I do to sell or as commissions outspec my personal rig. Recent one I built (it's evil and hates me but that's another story) has a Xeon E5-2670, R9 290, 16GB RAM, OCZ Vertex 3, and a nifty MSI micro-ATX X79 board that's model name I can't remember.

Anyhow, my darling PC, Bitlo, is a moderately modified HP Pavilion p6710f that I got for free from my Dad's boss. Specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 640, heavily undervolted. Stable 1.225v @ 3.00GHz, with additional undevolts for each P-state.

RAM:
2 x 4GB PNY DDR3

Mobo: Stock

Cooler:
Stock Cooler Master cooler, actually really quiet

GPU: Constantly switches out while I playtest used GPUs for my other builds (everything from R9 290 to FirePro V7600 to Geforce GT 210). On the rare occasion it doesn't have some ebay find churning away in it, I run a Zotac GTX 560 Ti ITX, 880MHz core & 2360MHz mem at stock voltage. It's been delidded and repasted, and I plan on strapping an AIO cooler on it to overcome current temp issues.

SSD: Toshiba Q300 120GB (Got it for free because best buy gift cards, was best available there)

HDD: Stock 1TB Seagate, hasn't died yet

PSU: EVGA 500W (basic White edition 80+ certified) Cheap, one of the best value for money options for your more lightweight low-draw systems (500B is the better choice now as it's only $5 more). Very reliable, good looks/build quality.

Wireless: Upgraded stock mini PCI-E wi-fi to an Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100. Drilled out a PCI-E slot cover and installed two 7DBi wireless antennae in it, tore out the tiny clip of metal that's the stock 'antenna'.

Case: Stock, with original stickers and all, only modification is the big antennae sticking out the back. An amusing touch of 90s. I may eventually do some slick mods but for now it's a sleeper/stealth/mundane PC. I'll probably build out a separate LAN box in  my Cooler Master Ammo 533, so no real need to do anything to Bitlo's case, it'd all be for personal amusement.
