Music in other languages.
« on: February 21, 2010, 04:15:33 pm »
I find it funny how Spanish songs, in my case, seeing as there are many other good songs in different languages out there, are sometimes just so much more fun than the generic English music we all know and love. o3o

Anyone else a fan of music in different languages? I really only listen to English and Spanish, mostly because those are the two languages I know (well, Spanish vaguely, but I could still keep track of a normal conversation) and I just think Spanish in general sounds really pretty, or poppy, or whatever the song does. <3

Yup! I'm a huge fan of foreign music! It's always nice to keep some variety in music, to see what other people around the world are listening to. I've listened to Icelandic, French, Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese, English (Of course...), Spanish, and some other languages. Of course only bits and pieces of each language, so possibly like 1 or 2 bands, the more different it is the more I tend to like it. Only specific types of music/bands though for each language... Regardless of what language it's in, I can't stand rap, for the most part I like rock, post-rock, alternative rock, stuff like that. Old cultural music is nice too, instrumental/classical stuff with some singing I guess is fine.

Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Italian.

I'll also pick up something I know absolutely nothing of, such as Russian, if I want vocalized emotion rather than something steeped in meanings.

Edit: Izzy, ever hear Soul Rescuer?

Honestly I can only say Ramstein and Safri Duo, even though the latter isn't really a vocal group xD

It's Jrap over something wanting to be house blues and jazz at the same time. It's in that video; give it about 30 seconds of vocals and let me know if you hate it.

Although I don't hate it exactly, it's not my type of music really, doesn't exactly fit my taste.

It's cool. I actually wasn't looking for you to like it; I just wanted to give you a bit of something "different" to hear in terms of rap.

Thanks for at least giving it a try. A cookie for that!

I <3 maNga. They're a Turkish band who've won an MTV award for best newcomers or something. They're going to represent Turkey in the Eurovison song contest but the original track they are singing is being replaced by a horrible one :'(

P.S sorry for the necropost, I just realised :/

GAH, Still don't know what a necropost is.

I like listening to Japanese music, like soundtracks from anime and that sort of thing. I don't often listen to other types though.

Some Russian music from the RA3 soundtrack is good. And A lot of dramatic pieces done in latin are very good too.

You should listen to Brand New World by D-51. It's the sixth opening to One Piece.
Actually I could recomend a few anime songs, but that's my favorite.
