Yay!

Edit: After testing a bit, it seems the new domain will not properly deal with cookies. However, it will still read cookies stored from the lupinia.us domain.

The problem arises when you remove the stored cookies and login from the new domain. No new cookies are created.

Good observation! But its true. The cookies are domain name specific so you're cookies registered under lupinia.us/furryteens will not work on furryteens.org unless you log in again and enable it to put a cookie on your pc.

This is good news I geuss. Only thing bugging me is the adress bar never changes from furryteens.org/forums to anythign else...gives kind of uncomfortable feeling.

Sorry, you misunderstood me. (I think I wasn't clear. ^^; )

Anyway, the lupinia.us domain cookies do work on the furryteens.org domain. The problem is that if you remove the lupinia.us/furryteens domain cookies from your system, then log-in from the furryteens.org domain, the furryteens.org domain will not create new cookies.

In other words, you will not remained logged in if you leave the 'session'. The workaround at the moment is to log-in from the lupinia.us/furryteens domain then access the furryteens.org domain.

I will look into that cookie problem. It is kind of strange, I'll do some messing around with it tonight see what I can change, unless anyone else has any suggestions?

Also yes the URL is currently masked, and will be locked as you enter the site. I can unlock it and it will show the normal lupinia.us if I get enough people that want it back that way.

Also the plus side of this....I don't have to have a link to get back to the forums index anymore cause after posting it takes me where it should go. I still wonder why it did that at the lupina site though. =/

A better idea would be to set the DNS nameserv or whatever it's called so that the new domain is an alias rather than a mask.  You'd need to get the nameserv data from Felix first, but it would be a lot cleaner this way.

My host revamped their domain management system, so I should be able to set this up now.  I'll look into getting the info :-)

Felix if you could please use my personal email rather than PM to email the nameserv information. It is kitwolfy@gmail.com Then I could switch it over.

Thanks

No.

Thanks, Kit, and Thanks Felix.  We will give honors to whom they are due, and I, for one, really appreciate FT being so maintained.  Thanks.

How much do domain names go for currently?

Last I knew they were 14-15 dollars a year.

Domain names very by popularity, they usually range from 8 to 10 dollars yearly.

Isn't that what the adult art section is for kind of already? Anyway if we want to attract other furs to the site...best chances are just getting some from people we might have met on pounced or furs we know in real life. Recruitment drives never work out...trust me. EF has tried it plenty of times...and it isn't always sucessful.

We go to furcadia and advertise too.  We get a few members that way. :3

An Ad on Pounced sounds like a cool idea.  If one of the mods dont beat me to it, we'll make an account for it. :3
