Dante's Inferno (the poem)
« on: June 03, 2010, 07:42:14 pm »
I just finished reading all the installments of the Divine Comedy by Dante Aligheri.  I think Inferno was by far the most disturbing, most heart-wrenching, and most vivid story I have ever read.  I really enjoyed how deep it got, and the fact that I got really freaked out by it shows true talent on Dante's part.  It's so amazing I'm actually writing a Dungeons and Dragons campaign based on it!

I think I would much rather read the poem again than play this new video game, however.  It's all about the emotion, depth and despair, not gory demon-killing.

Has anybody else read it? What do you think about this literary masterpiece?
