Has anyone else noticed that a lot of information on wikipedia is biased/innacurate? I mean, I use wikipedia a lot, and in the last couple of weeks I've come accross a number of articles that were inaccurate. Some of them I edited, but some of them wiki won't let people edit. Has anyone else been annoyed by this?

I've never noticed that.
Although I don't go browsing that place all the time.

I suppose when you waste most of your free time online (like me) you're more likely to notice those things :\

It's been pretty accurate for me, with the exception of random flames and some current issues...Wikipedia does a pretty good job of monitoring that stuff.

Who inputs wikipedia information anyways?  I mean, do users edit them?  Or whats the deal with it?  Ive never noticed it, but I do wonder sometimes.

All you have to do is sign up.

I've noticed a few furiends getting their own entry in the wikifur.

Perhaps furryteens should have an entry.

Actually, you don't even have to sign up to edit things. I'm not a member, but whenever I find a flaw I edit the article.

Some articles are "graffitied" and have to be locked to non-members of Wikipedia. Also, I think you have to be a member for a certain amount of time.

Me and my friends IRL have made so many jokes about that site because its so inaccurate like 90% of the time because its basically run by the public and not many of them are well educated. So when me and my friends did a research project we had to cross sites to make sure Wiki was actually accurate :/ But some of the stuff on there is kinda nifty and funny X3

I've never really used Wikipedia but the few times I have I'd have to agree with my nephew, Simba, and with Flinch. It's very inaccurate because we have a very uneducated public, but then again, it is using what society considers the definition of that word to be and in the end that is what it will be defined as. Right? Whether you use it, so called, 'properly' or not, the other person will understand it to it's common use,or in some cases misuse. So, in some ways it is helpful, in others it is very misguiding. *shrugs* Or maybe I'm just a stupid furre.

Whenever I'm bored I go into Wikipedia, or WikiFur and just keep clicking "random page" until something interesting comes up

There's a thing like it hosted by the BBC: The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy 2 (H2G2). It has loadsa articles per subject so if your researching something you get a good spectrum of opinions. Here's the address...
