Katie's name actually came from my dog, Katie. She's a really amazing dog and I love her to pieces :3 At school my freshman year, a bunch of friends and me made Thylacine characters. I named mine atie, and she pretty quickly developed into my fursona.

I've had a couple past fursona's... my first, I think, was "Shini," whose name came as a nickname from my old DA account "Shinigami-Shinichi." I also had a short-lived fursona named Eloise, which is my middle name :3

My other charcters/"alt. fursonas" are pretty much just names I really like.

Well, I've been fascinated by griffins for a long time, so I knew they were originally written about in Persia, so I wanted that to be my name, but then I found that someone else I guess had that name, and I wasn't about to copy.  So I thought... well, what if I translated some possible names or parts of names into persian... well, unfortunately I can't read persian.. it looks like this:  ?????? ?? ??? ???? ??? ? ??? ???? ??? ????

So I started plugging in words in other languages looking for a translation that wasn't obvious... meaning it didn't sound or look like what it was in english.  Finally I found "Harimau" meaning 'tiger' in Malay.  And knowing that RA is the sun god from Egyptial mythology who has the form of a falcon, I added the two together to get the name "Harimaura."
Harimaura - but you can call me Mara for short!

I had an image in mind for my fursona, but I needed a name, so I did what any self-respecting vocabulary nerd would do and I went to wordsmith.org to look up past Words of the Day.  I searched for a while for something that seemed like a name.  I settled on Sui Generis for a few reasons.  It has mostly soft sounds and flows off the tongue, it is two words which seems like a given and a family name, and it was a foreign word so it wouldn't be easily defined by most people or recognized as a non-name (e.g. portmanteau or diaphanous, which are pretty obviously not names).  It's definition was just an added bonus.

I was signing up for a forum a while back and I tried to think of a name for my account, and for some reason I pictured elmer fudd calling bugs a "pesky little rabbit." (I'm pretty sure he's never said that in the cartoon) So I henceforth became known as Pesky lil Rabbit, or Pesky for short. I signed up on this board as Perky because I was under aged on that other board (twas 18+) when I came here and I didn't wanna get caught XD (I don't much care now since I'm 18 and I haven't been to that forum in ages)

I kinda based my fursona originally on a cat we had growing up, Chopin.  What people don't usually get, though, is that "Chopin" is his last name.  His full name is Eddie Lance Chopin.  Eddie, cause I'm a big fan of Eddie Van Halen, and Lance came from Dimebag Darrel, from Pantera(it was his middle name).

And my alt, Lucy, I've just always thought that it's a really pretty name.

Arti Love

Look at it really closely and you can see it says, " Art I Love"  I am a very art based person.
That and because I adore the name Arty, so I thought I would put a spin on it to fit my liking.
Love is based on my personality.  I am very loving. :)
Remember that smile, the one you wore with such beauty and grace?  Where has it gone?  What has happened to put you in this miserable, lonely place?  Smile for me, even it may be the last time I see.  A picture I will take not for myself, no. A picture for the entire world to embrace the happiness you once shared with me.  Just smile...

My fursona's name is Maximillian Badru Wolfe. Maximillian is because that is my dogs name which i got from a game I played when I was younger called Dark Cloud II. Badru is a swahili name which means born on the full moon which is a big part of my fursona's story considering he was born on a full moon.
Wolfe is because I like the way it's spelled and sounds.

The first time I posted here, I was assuming the forum profile, which is my name for basically everything (seriously, if you see a Sylfire on a website, it's probably me, 80% chance likelihood).

As for my fursona's name... well, I haven't gotten past Marcus. Mostly because it's my real name, and I think it's awesome, partly because I haven't felt like giving him a true name yet. On a story I wrote, his last name was Rivera (a name that I accidentally borrowed from a real life friend of mine), but that was just for placeholding.

Any suggestions? (Might turn this question into it's own thread)

On a old website I used to go to(Byond, I think they're still around) I had to register a name. I always thought the word "Lard" was funny, so I tried that...but it was taken. So I decided to make a name based on that, but look hard to pronounce. And thus "Liard" was made(It's MEANT to be pronounced 'lie-ard', people like to say 'lee-ard', though).

Eventually I added a Y to the end. No clue why, but yeah. And thus, Liardy was made!(Lardy, Lee-ardy, Lie-ardy. I answer to all of them :3)

My fursona is a paint mustang, so I just decided to go with "Splash", and I like it a lot.

I got the name (Spink, as it'd be) from a book five years ago. It was the first book in the Soldier Son Trilogy by Robin Hobb, and one of the characters name is Spinrek Kester who had the nickname of "Spink" throughout the book. The character himself reminded me a lot of myself, in that the character has military aspirations (and is in a Calvary Officer Training School), the character sticks to a small group of friends (two, if I recall correctly), and Spinrek is also fairly shy and a bit on the socially awkward side in the book. Because of all the similarities, I just decided to go with Spink for anything that represented me (online names, fursona, so on).

Well, my Fursona's name is actually my real name, Connor. My screen name isnt my fursona name, and that gets people confused alot due to the fact it has the word 'moose' in it. Its a lifelong nickname that was partiallly carried down form my father's nickname, the moose, and I use it everywhere on the internet.
