How'd you choose your fursona's name?

Well, with Flora, I batted around a couple different nature-related names but kind of wanted my first two characters to be named matching (Flora and Fauna, who would later be named Cirrus instead) so I settled on Flora. Niche, well, I really made the character around the name, I guess. Niche sounded like it would be a good name for an OC and I felt like a kind of semi-grumpy semi-dorky monster poodle would work well for it.

I chose my fursona's name by merging Deer and one my internet alias and it made Deon. It was actually only supposed to be a temporary thing but I liked the name and could not come up with anything better.

I chose my fursonas new name jean because it was one of the masculine forms of my name.

I'm just curious as to where these names come from.

My name is that of a girl who is at my school, who's name I loved, and I thought it would work excellentley as a male's name too. It is an English word that means excessive pride, or something that is vane. It's also a term for a specific furniture peice, but that definition has no correlation with the name.

Mine is from Calyx the DnB artist.
Why I chose it? I couldn't think of a name while creating my fursona, but I was listening to Calyx's songs at the same time, so I thought 'Why not?' and went ahead with it

Mine is Sarka. I went on google translate and found that "maroon" is "sarkanbrūns" in Latvian, and I got Sarka out of that. Latvian language has meaning to me because in the last musical I performed in, Ragtime, I was a Jewish Immigrant coming to America from Latvia, and I loved dancing onstage as an immigrant and learning about Latvian culture.

Just sitting around with nothing to do, so I decide to come up with a new screen name.  And thus, Danny Twiddles was born.

Which what I thought you were going for but this helps ha ha.

I got my name when I was just surfing da webs for names for my book, and ran across 2 I like but later stuck with one becuase its me lol. Eyolf, which means lucky wolf and if i am right, in some languages it means little wolf.
The first name I had was Atcka which means guardian wolf.

Krowdon is kinda something I just made up when I needed something for a roleplay. I wanted a K name, and I wanted it to sound kind of like something a Redwall vermin would have, since I was the villain in a Redwall roleplay. I think it sounds a little masculine but I dont care I love her name.

I heard my brother talking in his sleep, and most of what he was saying was "Maku.. Makuuu.."
So, yeah. My fursona's was born from my brother talking in his sleep.

"Sam" comes from my name, which is "Sam".
"Salty" came when I had a habit of combining my name with the person guessed in he "Guess who posts next" thread, which resulted in:

HOLT?!?!

Salt.

Faithful?

No~

But, someone else that thinks Sam should change his name to Salty?

And finally, "Toasty" came from a short-lived gag where I claimed that my inner animal was the toaster. It was a joke, obviously. My inner animal is actually a blender.

Speaking as an established non-furry like our lovely bacon-adoring Sam, originally, "Alexxa" was made as a fursona name because I used to sign cheques and stuff as 'Alexxa Geldof'. At the time of joining FT, my avatar was our lovely furry dog Jack. Then my fursona's name morphed to some others, but they didn't seem to fit, so I found comfort in "Access Denied" because by then I had turned away from my side of the family who are a complete and utter pain in the arrrse. Nuff said.

Recently changed sona(again) and named her Lee.
I always thought it was cool how my initials spelled Lee, my brother brought it up one time I was putting in my score in one of my older games I've been playing and said that make a good name for one of my characters. So as I developed Lee, I couldn't think of a name and wanted something simple, not so feminine, and more personal then I thought "Oh Lee, I can name her Lee" and stuck.

Mine is Odin Thanatos which came from a name generator but I know the myths and legends behind the two gods. Odin is the Allfather of the gods in Norse mythology. Thanatos is the Daemon personification for Death and was a minor role in Greek Mythology.

I was looking for a name everywhere something that fit but I gave up and started saying random things that poped into my head and one of the random "words" just kinda stuck. It was a ah ha moment where Assan just kinda leaped at the name and took it. Same thing happened for Kyael, needed a name for him and it is like they gave it to themselves, which in a way they did.

IDK I always thought of Alex being a cool name,but I wanted it to be different. So I just spelled it the full way and removed the e at the end thus creating Alexzandr.
