Wandering (Discussion)

"Not all who wander are lost." One of my favorite quotes, and I believe that it is very true. I love to wander, to explore, to see new things. It's not just the grand, sweeping sights that amaze me, It can be as simple as a path in the forest, an abandoned playground, or even a quiet street in a neighborhood.

Who here likes to wander, and where to?

Ah, the quote by Tolkien. Very famous indeed.

It's actually more philosophical than literal in this case. It relates to the path people take in life - not just your average wanderings around town.

I usually don't wander around myself, but I do let my mind wander quite often. ^_^

My mind is usually the only thing that does. My body usually stays within the confines of my house. God I suck.

Yeh, I love to wander. When I'm out on the hills I'll look at the map and if a place looks interesting, I'll go there. If there's no path there, then it's time to take a bearing and go anyway! :3

Always great fun!

After college I'd like to spend some time as Euro-trash, and just wonder around everywhere for a bit.

If I ever wander it's against my will. I prefer to stay shut up in my house, glaring out the window at anyone who touches my lawn.

I only wander physically if one of two conditions are met
1) I have a map, compass, one days worth of food/water, and a cellphone.
2) I know the area well enough to find my way back no matter where I end up.
This is because I am terrible at sensing direction as well as remembering which way I went. I tried wandering without either of the conditions once, ended up using 2 hours to leave an city area that probably covered 5 mile diameter max.
Mentally, I wander more often than I stay on a straight path.
"Life's journey is not about arriving at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit, what a ride""
"Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means you are two steps ahead"
"Invoke not common sense, for it is not common"
"A life without joy is a wasted one, and you got but one to waste."
"To touch the clouds, you need to reach for the stars"

Living with my parents is better than being with a controlling mate.

Life isnt that easy.

If you confront your parents about your problem, then, as parents, they would be obligated to do everything in their power to help you. Don't cut yourself short.

I would like to wander.

I would like the motivation to get up early enough to wander.

Later in the day I'd much rather see people when they're around.

I think I let my mind wander to much which tends to get me a tiny bit to distracted sometimes at work and slows down my effenicy XP But ya I do it alot since it helps me think about things and realize alot of things that I have done or have been happening in my life so far.

I don't wander too much physically. I may wonder about four or five miles away to get away from the drama that is everyday life. That's when my mind starts to wander. When my mind wanders, I'm not aware of the physical environment around me. I think about how life could be if no one fought about power, fame, drugs, or any of that stuff that could just be thrown away. Sometimes I don't even think at all, this is how I get over things.
