Anyone listen to Post Rock?
« on: October 18, 2010, 01:03:54 am »
I've been listening to a LOT of post rock lately.  I was wondering if anyone had any band suggestions.
The Post Rock bands I have discovered already and listen to are:
-This Will Destroy You
-Explosions in the Sky
-Sigur Ros (icelandic post rock)
and that's about it.

This might help, Spazbby. There's a bit of a distinction between genres.

I've met them. They're really boring arses. Good music, shame about the people. Oh, and it's "iLiKETRAiNS"

Also - Do Make Say Think
65DaysOfStatic
Redjetson
Engineers
Hope Of The States
Mogwai

They're the post-rock bands I like that haven't been mentioned before.

Wow, glad to see that there's more people getting into this amazing genre. I suggest checking out:
God Is An Astronaut (these guys got me into the genre)
Red Sparowes
Collapse Under The Empire
Godspeed You! Black Emporer
Lights Out Asia
Swans
The Ascent of Everest
Monkey3

And for post metal:
Irreversible
Rosetta
Callisto
Isis
A Storm of Light

I hope this list helps you out. Happy listening!

65DOS are a great band, and really friendly fellas too. They're from Sheffield and know my friend who went to Uni there.
