Eve since I was a kid, I always loved anthropomorphic animals, mainly wolves. Anything that had an anthro or animal, I got hooked. My interest for them die down until I saw an episode of Taboo, and I discovered what the furry fandom was. Months later, the itch came back and I got into rewatching nostalgic animated movies and look at anthro art. One thing led to another, and here I am! :fox-:):
I consider myself a lone wolf, but I don't mind a friend or two to talk with. I also happen to be a writer.

Believe it or not I had a negative view on the fandom, I was that one person that would strongly dislike it, thinking it was all yiff and stuff. But then, I researched, watched ViDocs, everything, even begun to draw them, and I've loved the furries ever since. I'm sorry about my past guys, won't happen again, I promise.

I truly, truly am. Please forgive me.

Australia day, 2012. While having some birthday celebrations, along with my LAN friend's traditional Australia day LAN party, I got my first real exposure to the furry fandom.

Was chatting to my cousin and saw this really, really cool picture he has as his background. While I has seen some other anthro art he had posted on Facebook, I didn't take much notice of it. But this one particular image just made me go "Holy shit that is awesome". I proceeded to ask my cousin all about it, found out about furaffinity, that it's a whole fandom where people attend conventions and such.

I immediately made myself a furraffinity account and browsed heaps and heaps of artwork, falling in love with everything I could find about it. Three days later, on my 16th Birthday, I came accross Perthfurs, a forum for local furs in my hometown. To my amazement, there were over 500 active furs. In a tiny, extremely isolated city, that's a huge amount. Ended up making my original fursona (Orange and white Winged fox with multicoloured eyes (Wings and eyes still remain now)). Ended up getting in to contact with someone close to my age, he ended up asking if anyone was up for a meet. Two years to the day, I attended my first meet, organised on a whim, 50 people showed up!

A year ago I saw a guy in a fox fursuit at the redeu canal so I taught it looked cute and it was a mascot,I looked online to see if I was and there was no mascot and I searched guy wearing fox
costume, clicked a link and found the bad side. :sad-fox:
But later I got this free channel preview for this channel about pets and people who love them. They showed the furry thing again but just showed the good side and the comics and cons and stuff so I got interested.I got discriminated against a lot on the internet and left 4chan but I found this safe website  :fox-;):

I liked animals and anthros way before I knew about the fandom. My anthro art skyrocketed when I started playing the BloodyRoar games again around 8-10, I drew anthro characters all over my school folders, and school work. Then converted my neopets into anthros also influenced from one of my favorite artists there. I liked playing alot of virtual pet games at the time so was looking for new ones and found chicken smoothie. I adopted pets and all but their nothing like neopets so I started going on the forums but rarely talked accept in the oekaki boards and I saw tons of people with animal characters called fursonas(mainly bad sparkle dogs though) and thought it was cool but didnt do anything. Then while looking through the forums I found a thread about furries the OP explained what it was and just fell in love with the idea and have been a furry since, I was around 13 when I became a furry, didnt know the bad side untill I went to FurAffinity but at that point I didnt care, but if my first impression was the bad side I definitely wouldn't have joined since im not the sexual type and just not comfortable with that topic.
I was also a major wolfaboo when I joined :3

I had been trying to draw the were fox part of a character I was creating for an RPG. (That character was, probably, as you guessed, Kage) So, I was trying to look up how to draw an anthropomorphic fox. Ended up here, and while I didn't find my answer, I did find a new and interesting place.

At first it was porn, but I didn't know the fandom nor cared back then. Few years later I come across some webcomics, followed those then found the artist's FA made an account and it went on from there.

I've been around furries for a while.
Never really did catch on until recently.

Two of my co-workers are furry, about 1/6 of my school is into the furry fandom in some degree, and even the server I was playing in for Counter-Strike: Source was full of furries and I didn't even know about it just until recently.

I eventually looked into it more, and thought it was actually pretty rad.

I wanted to make a wolf costume for halloween when I was 12, and while looking up ways to do it I found the fursuit livejournal! that was back in its heyday too (there'd be new posts like... every hour), so I began lurking there and got into fursuit making. I later joined deviantart and fell in with the furry crowd there! I took a break from the fandom for like 3 years tho, but I'm back! ;U;

I had already been creating my fursona for a while, and while trying to find pics similar to it/seeing if other people have animal-like characters they view as themselves I came across the concept of furries, and then the fandom  :lol-fox:
There IS a way...there is always a way...I just haven't thought of it yet...

Probably from Kemonomimi in animes. Or the fact that I love animals. Right now I am loving the furry community and how supporting and artistic it is. No one is better then you guys.
