Although, I wouldn't imagine someone creating fursonas just to sell them.  As in, make a business off of them.
I've seen it done.

I don't think I could, unless maybe I was offered millions of dollars or something, to be completely honest. But, the likelihood of that ever happening is nonexistent, and it would still be hard. After having 5 other 'sonas I've finally become attached to one. Which, considering a lot is pretty surprising. In the fandom I'm really just an artist, and, I dunno. I don't think she'll ever become as attached to me and your fursona's are to you until I change that, if I'm making any sense here >>;;

I myself would never sell my fursona, not for any reasonable amount of money. The main reasons for this would probably be that 1) I don't have any other fursona to take it's place, so I'd have to start from scratch and 2) I guess I have a spiritual connection in a sense. It would just feel like I was turning my back on something that belonged with me, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for selling out.
To me my owl fursona is more than just a creature I draw or RP as, I guess discovering what it was helped me discover who I was.

Short answer = no.

I myself could never sell my fursona for any sum of money my fursona has become a part of me and my life. If I were to sell it it would be like selling a part of my self. So no I could never sell my fursona for any sum of money.

However, there is a circumstance under which I could part with my characters, and that's if I'm dead.  Morbid to think about, I know, but there's already a provision in my will to transfer my characters to someone else, to keep Natasha and Svetlana "alive".  Is that weird?  :-)

Considering that mine originally belonged to someone dear to my heart who is no longer here? You could do worse. I stole mine, in a sense (though I don't believe he'd mind). At least yours is legitimately passed on.

I totally couldn't.

Mine is like me....the design is extremely me inspired and it's just this weird little soul thing.

I don't know. It's something oddly personal for me....maybe that's weird. It'd be like taking a picture of myself that I really liked, in my favorite clothes, and saying "Lol, I'll sell you this character, dawg~~~~"

It's just weird.

Money's not that important to me. I like drawing other peoples characters, not taking them. >:C

I find it funny how I could let go of my fursona.

I guess I'm not a sentimental person. :?

For an unreasonaly high amount of money, sure. But under any kind of normal circumstances, no. Sina, at first, was nothing more than a character to draw. But as I got more into the furry fandom, I became more attached to Sina. Now she's like a part of me. She's my face in the fandom. She is me to the furs I don't know IRL. It seems odd to say that she's a part of me, because she isn't really... but she's like another face. And I keep thinking about how wierd it would be to see someone else drawing pictures of her and calling her their fursona, and I dont' like it at all.

hmm... i kinda put thought into, and its, ya know, its perfect (for me). its what i want and i couldnt really get another one that would ever be just as good. but im a pretty cheap person. at the moment ive only had him so long, so i would probably sell him for 200$. maybe after a year or so id want some more, and im sure eventually you could get me up to a thousand, but yeah. i like money to much.

oh, look at that, im willing to give up my values and beliefs for a large enough sum of money. i should be a lawer!
hey look.

i'm not here.

(This is first time for me to revive an thread! Yay! Thanks quests for browsing interesting thread so I can stalk ya and find something like this)

Even if my fursona's design is one of the simpliest ever, I dont feel like I could let go of it... Because I identify myself with it. So unless it's an absurd amount of money I dont think I would ever let go of part of myself  :fox-:): I have even been thinking of being an different fursona but I just cant imagine being anything else for some reason oWo

Sharkbait is a representation of myself and it would just feel weird to sell them and see them being used by other people. Especially if they changed the design. :(

And it's not just Sharkbait, but a number of other OC's. With Sharkbait it's more of a "this is my alter ego, a part of me, why would I sell them" kind of thing, but with my other OC's it's more like a huge emotional attachment. I created them. they are my cHILDREN.

I don't think you could get me to give up Assan, not for any some of money. He is a part of me, well he is me, it would be like selling myself.

I could never get rid of Solstice, Faye or Slyline. They're all a part of me and like my little babies. I couldn't bear to see them go, especially if they're new owner was going to mistreat them :c

I did however trade off one of my old Sonas, Echo was a Dutch Angel Dragon I created, I never had much of an emotional attachment with her and never got around to giving her a backstory of personality more than "cute". She was just sitting on my computer not doing anything so I traded her to someone on Facebook, I set rules so that she won't get mistreated but the new owner is awesome and loves her and uses her more than I ever did

I could never ever part with Krowdon.

I made her in the fifth grade as a Redwall OC. Over the years her personality and design have changed into what she is today. I don't think I could ever part with her, no matter how much money someone offered me.

I represent myself as Krowdon so many places anyway.

Here, FA, Redwall Warlords, PSN, League of Legends, etc.

I'd have to have a completely new identity basically.

She's too much a part of who I am for me to part with her, and I love her a lot. She's my favorite character I've ever made. (And I've made a lot of characters. Not all furry.)

I'm not kidding when I say you'd have to pry her from my cold, dead hands.

I would not sell my family or friends, and I most definitely would not sell myself. Alex is me after all, he's my other half and I will never sell him or give him away.

No way
Besides the fact she's me, I also have attachment issues and once I create a character, I have a really hard time letting go of it

It makes me sad when I see people having to sell their fursonas because they need money and stuff. Yeah you can make another, but you already brought life to that one ;;

As often as I end up changing my 'sona, I still don't think I could give her away. My 'sona is me, so it would be kinda strange if someone else had possession of Koyu. Plus, I like her, so I just couldn't part.
