Resident Evil Apocalypse AND Extinction
« on: January 16, 2011, 05:43:26 am »
OK so we all know RE is a game about zombies. Apocalypse was full of action but little story, Extinction was full of story and action but you need to watch both to get the big story. Zombies arn't that gross but the mutants are kinda disturbing. They did show some lame excuses of humans moral wise though. Must watch for fans of zombie movies and games.

Watch the first movie as well, because the origins of everything in the alternate continuity start there. It simply runs under the title "Resident Evil," same as the first game. There are four movies total, and judging by the ending of the fourth, there will probably be a fifth at some point.
I give the series as a whole a ton of points because of how well they were adapted from the main pieces of the franchise-- the American influence changes a lot, but it makes it fresh enough so that you don't see too much that you already know. The first also has a nice plot twist involving Alice(Milla Jovovich) and her partner as employees of Umbrella, and introduces the Laser Tunnel concept. It also gives other characters a nice taste of the action, as Alice/Milla ends up hoarding it a bit in the second and third films.
The first also has more plot for it's action: It starts out kind of like an obscure sci-fi murder mystery film.

I recommend the series as a whole, and especially second Sleek's recommendation for the middle films. They seem to get better the later into the franchise they go.
Meh.

Why are Nazi zombies any scarier than normal zombies? Surely Nazis are scarier when they're alive?

Last time I checked there aren't any films where zombies create huge industrial-scale killing factories for jews.
